Terms of use
Last updated October 6, 2026.
megafan.wiki is a personal, non-commercial catalogue of concert discs, run by one person ("I", "me"). By using it you agree to these terms, to the community rules and to the way the privacy notice describes handling your information. Copyright questions are answered on the copyright page.
Reading the Wiki
Anyone can read the wiki. It hosts no audio or video, and nothing on it is for sale or download. How its text may be reused, and why its sleeve art is shown, is set out in the colophon: in short, the site's own text is under CC BY-SA 4.0, and the pictures are not offered for reuse.
Accounts
- You must be 13 or older to have an account.
- While the site is in its early stage, signing up needs an invitation.
- Give a working email address. Keep your password to yourself, and turn on two-factor authentication if you can. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
- Usernames are permanent once chosen, but I may change or remove one that impersonates someone, breaks the rules, or causes confusion, and you can ask me to change yours.
- You can delete your account at any time from your settings page. What that removes and what stays is described in the privacy notice.
What You Post
This covers anything you add to the site: your bio today, and collection notes, forum posts and disc scans as those features arrive.
- It stays yours. By posting it, you give me permission to store it, show it on the site, and adapt it as running the site needs: resizing a scan, for example, or quoting a post in a reply. The permission is worldwide and free of charge, and it lets me do only what running megafan.wiki involves.
- Forum posts stay on the site after you delete your account, shown as from a "former member", so that conversations keep making sense. Your bio does not.
- Scans you submit and I accept become part of the catalogue and stay in it if you later delete your account. Your name comes off them, and nothing else changes.
- You must have the right to post it. Only post your own words, and scans you made yourself of discs you own or hold. Don't post anything you couldn't legally share.
- I may remove anything that breaks these terms or the rules, or that I'm asked to remove for a legitimate reason, and I may suspend or close an account that does so. If you think I got it wrong, write to me.
What the Site Promises, and What It Doesn't
I try hard to get the catalogue right, but it is a hobby project: information may be incomplete or wrong, and the site may change, go down, or close. It is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind.
To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the site, and my total liability for any claim about it is limited to US$50. Nothing here limits a right the law says can't be limited.
Changes and the Law
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them, and a change that matters will be announced on the site before it takes effect. Using the site after that means you accept the new terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois and of the United States.
