Copyright and removals
Last updated October 6, 2026.
megafan.wiki catalogues concert discs. It hosts no audio or video. It shows sleeve art at reduced resolution only to identify a release, and photographs only to identify the person or place on the page. The colophon explains where everything comes from.
If you hold the rights in something here and want it removed, ask: it will come down, no argument, no delay. That applies equally to a cover, a photograph, a translation of text you wrote, and anything a member posted.
How to Ask
Write to claims@megafan.wiki and include:
- your name, and how to reach you;
- what you hold the rights in (the album, the photograph, the text);
- the address of each page where it appears on megafan.wiki;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that this use isn't authorized by you, your agent or the law;
- a statement that the information in your message is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you own the rights or are authorized to act for whoever does;
- your signature (typing your full name is enough in an email).
Points 4 to 6 are what a formal notice under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act needs. If you only want a quick removal and aren't sending a formal notice, a plain request with points 1 to 3 is enough to start.
What Happens Next
- The material is removed from the site's source, not just from the page, so a later update can't bring it back.
- You get a reply saying so.
- If a member posted it, they are told it was removed and why.
If Your Post Was Removed by Mistake
A member whose post was removed after a formal notice can send a counter-notice to claims@megafan.wiki. It must include:
- what was removed and where it appeared;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification;
- your name, address and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the U.S. federal district court for your address (or, outside the U.S., any judicial district where I can be found), and will accept service from the person who sent the notice;
- your signature.
I forward it to the person who sent the notice. If they don't take the matter to court within 10 to 14 business days, the post can be restored.
Repeat Infringement
Accounts that repeatedly post material the poster has no right to share are closed.
Notices Sent to the Host
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which acts on copyright notices sent to it directly by removing the material. Writing to me first is the quickest route, and it reaches the same result.
