Galneryus - Live in the Moment of the Resurrection

Live in the Moment of the Resurrection is Galneryus's third DVD, released by Vap on December 8, 2010 as a two-disc set. It films the last night of the TIME FOR THE RESURRECTION tour, at Shibuya AX in Tokyo on September 12, 2010. The tour was behind Resurrection, the band's sixth studio album and the first with Masatoshi "SHO" Ono on vocals and TAKA on bass.

The concert plays Resurrection complete. Its opening instrumental, "United Blood", is the walk-on as the members take the stage, and its closing one, "The Road Goes On", runs under the curtain call and the staff roll. Eight of its songs come in the main set and "Destiny" in the last encore, with the back catalogue around them, and the band returns for three encores of two songs each, from "You're the Only... 2010" to "United Flag". The first encore also had a Queensrÿche cover, "Queen of the Reich", which the disc cuts to its last few seconds: the picture fades to black after "You're the Only... 2010" and comes back on the band finishing it, just before "Cry for the Dark". The disc's own credit roll gives the line-up as Syu (guitar, chorus, throat), SHO (vocal), TAKA (bass), JUNICHI (drums) and YUHKI (keyboards, Hammond organ, chorus), and names Yorimasa Hisatake as producer, arranging every song with the band. Naoki Sakurai of MIT STUDIO mixed the sound, Yoichi Aikawa mastered it at Rolling Sound Mastering, and Daishin Suzuki directed the video, with Tetsushi Suehiro as video producer and Yoshiaki Uchiyama as director of photography over seven cameramen.

The second disc is a 66-minute companion. A tour digest visits five of the earlier stops, each captioned with its date and hall: CUBE GARDEN in Sapporo (August 20), MACANA in Sendai (August 23), NAMIKI JUNCTION in Hiroshima (September 3), UMEDA AKASO in Osaka (September 4) and ELECTRIC LADY LAND in Nagoya (September 5). It goes on to the rehearsal at MIT STUDIO on September 10 and the solo spots from the Shibuya AX show by Syu, YUHKI and JUNICHI, and ends with the video clips for "Destiny" and "You're the Only... 2010".

This copy is the original Japanese edition, VPBQ-19069, at ¥3,990 including tax. One jacket holds both discs: its front is the band's dragon crest over the title, and its back lists each disc above the spec bar. The concert runs about 147 minutes on a single-sided dual-layer disc and the extras about 66 on a single-layer one, 16:9 letterboxed, NTSC, region 2, with linear PCM and Dolby Digital stereo. The 18-page booklet is photographs from the tour without captions, ending on the curtain call; its last page credits the photographs to Daisuke Honda and the cover design to Yutaka Kawase of LOGGIA. Both disc faces misprint "Distributed" as "Destributed".
