O-WEST Building Overview

The first floor is occupied by Lawson, the second floor by Spotify O-WEST, the fifth and sixth floors by Spotify O-nest, and the seventh floor by 7th FLOOR. The building was designed by Kojiro Kitayama + K Planning Office.

Spotify O-WEST

The venue has a standing capacity of 600 people, or 250 people when seating is used. Lockers are located at the top of the stairs leading to the second-floor seating area on the left when facing the stage. They may be unavailable for some performances. There is a front-row barrier, although it may be removed for certain events. The floor has no level changes. The official styling is “O-WEST”, not “O-West”.

Spotify O-Nest

The venue has a standing capacity of 250 people. Entry is via the sixth floor. The sixth floor is the café and bar floor, while the fifth floor is the live performance floor.

7th FLOOR

This live music venue is the only one not operated by Shibuya O-Group, although it sometimes organizes joint events with O-Group. It is equipped with a grand piano and primarily hosts acoustic music.

History

In December 1993, it opened as ON AIR WEST in the building opposite ON AIR, now Spotify O-EAST.

In March 1996, Shibuya nest (now Spotify O-nest) opened.

In December 2003, in conjunction with the completion of the O-EAST building, the venues were renamed Shibuya O-WEST and O-nest.

In February 2008, O-nest became a directly operated venue of Shibuya Television.

In December 2013, Culture Convenience Club acquired the naming rights, and the venues were renamed TSUTAYA O-WEST and TSUTAYA O-nest.

On December 1, 2021, the naming rights for Shibuya O-WEST and Shibuya O-nest were sold to Spotify Japan, and the venues were renamed Spotify O-WEST and Spotify O-nest.
