Versailles - Live Best

LIVE BEST is a compilation of earlier concert footage rather than a single concert film. Its five live songs come from two of the band's previous live videos for Warner Music Japan, and the back panel names the source of each: Ascendead Master and God Palace from CHATEAU DE VERSAILLES -JUBILEE- (disc II), and Philia, MASQUERADE and The Revenant Choir from CHATEAU DE VERSAILLES -Holy Grail-. The jacket bills the band as Versailles Philharmonic Quintet, over a painted ceiling and gilded colonnade, and the booklet captions the line-up as KAMIJO (vocal), HIZAKI and TERU (guitar), MASASHI (bass) and YUKI (drums).

Alongside the five songs the disc carries the music video for Truth, directed by Masahiko Ozawa, and ten Personal Edit Versions: Ascendead Master and The Revenant Choir five times each, which Warner describes as each built only from the footage of one member. Each edit opens on a card naming its player, and both songs run in the same order: KAMIJO, HIZAKI, TERU, MASASHI and YUKI. The booklet lists three shows under the personal edits, Tokyo Dome City Hall on April 30, 2010 and Shibuya Public Hall on September 4, 2010 and February 12, 2012, without saying which edit comes from which. The disc runs about 119 minutes.

Warner Music Japan released it on March 27, 2013. Copies of the first production run came with a photo card marked NOT FOR SALE, whose back is a calendar for April 2013 to March 2014; Warner's page gives five designs, packed at random.
