Overview

UDO Artists Inc. was established on November 15, 1967, as Udo Music Office Co., Ltd. by Seijiro Udo (有働誠次郎), who had been involved in the music industry since the postwar period.

At the time of its establishment, the company invited bands and singers performing at nightclubs and clubs on United States military bases. From 1972 onward, as Japan’s first promoter specializing in rock music, it brought artists including Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, the Eagles and Billy Joel to Japan for the first time. In 1991, it presented a joint concert by Clapton and former Beatle George Harrison, held exclusively in Japan.

On December 19, 1972, it established the Udo Music Office Osaka Office Co., Ltd. in Osaka.

In May 1982, Udo Music Office Co., Ltd. was reorganised as Udo Music Office, Inc.

In June 1984, it entered into a business alliance with Ticket Pia and began handling computerised tickets.

In 1999, at Clapton’s guitar auction, In Aid of CROSSROADS CENTRE, held by Christie’s, the company supported the charitable purpose and purchased three guitars for a total of approximately US$190,000: a 1956 Fender Stratocaster, a 1992 Fender Telecaster 40th Anniversary model made by the Custom Shop, and a 1960 Gibson ES-330T.

In April 2000, Udo Music Office Osaka Office Co., Ltd. was reorganised as Osaka Udo Music Office, Inc.

In November 2012, Udo Holdings, Inc. was established as a holding company.

Effective April 1, 2021, Udo Music Office and Osaka Udo Music Office merged.

In October 2023, Keisuke Endo became president and representative director. The company’s founder, Seijiro Udo, also died at the age of 92.

On May 13, 2026, Bandai Namco Music Live announced that it had acquired a 35% stake from Udo Holdings and formed a strategic partnership. Leveraging the strengths of the Bandai Namco Group’s IP-based strategy and UDO’s concert planning and operational capabilities, the companies stated that they would strengthen live events and music businesses in Japan and overseas originating from video and music content, and accelerate the global expansion of their music businesses.
